Based on Holger Aulenbach´s experience in trading several thousand carats of certified an none certified diamonds, he has concluded that only the following three certification institutes should be considered when evaluating diamonds. However, this is not all. Additional factors are taken into account for the certificates we, Diamant AG, recognize. Each diamond and jewel we trade is taken under personal examine by Holger Aulenbach. In rare cases we might not even accept or agree with the assessment result of IGI or GIA certificates and instead subject them to an additional review by the Hoge Raad voor Diamant (HRD). Occasionally, we also trade in cut diamonds that do not possess any of the aforementioned certificates but have other assessments, in addition to our personal evaluations, that we fully recognize. This could, for example, be the rating of the mining company.
Regarding jewelry, we deal exclusively in gold or platinum, primarily due to the exceptionally high quality of the diamonds and possibly other processed gemstones such as rubies, sapphires, emeralds and others.
If you like to trade certified diamonds with us and the certificate comes from another laboratory or jeweler, the diamond will certainly be re-examined by IGI, GIA or HRD. We do not trade in or sell lab-grown stones. Furthermore, we refuse to call artificially produced lab-grown stones, regardless of their hardness, diamonds, because they simply aren't.
